September 15, 2014January 28, 2021 | Shahira

The past weekend was a challenging one and it ended up with me being dissolved in a fit of tears in my man’s hands. Some time life overwhelms you so much that you cannot bear to move forward any longer… and yet you want to push ahead of all the adversities for the person in front

Me !

September 5, 2014January 28, 2021 | Shahira

What we perceive as important or beautiful might not be so, in the eyes of another person. What piques our interest would not be noticed by another

The tweets of survival.

September 3, 2014January 28, 2021 | Shahira

Prompt : What is the most helpful post/hashtag you read about the recent attacks on Gaza? (Prompt slightly modified!)   In early July, while casually browsing through Twitter I came across the Twitter hashtag #Gazaunderattack. Since I was out of touch with International news, I didn’t know the Israeli-Palestinian conflict had escalated. Treading through the

Written words > Spoken words

September 2, 2014January 28, 2021 | Shahira

Prompt : How do you communicate better? Speaking or writing? The picture answers it all. Journals over the years. (Some are missing though!) Sharing our stories can also be a means of healing. Grief and loss may isolate us, and anger may alienate us. Shared with others, these emotions can be powerfully uniting, as we

Healing through words.

September 1, 2014January 28, 2021 | Shahira

Nearly two months since I showed my presence on the blogosphere. Life happened! Yet, I feel a piece of the puzzle missing. …there are two ways in which I find my healing and patience : Prayer and Writing. The English Patient – Book Review

March 5, 2014January 18, 2021 | Shahira

“She had always wanted words, she loved them, grew up on them. Words gave her clarity, brought reason, shape. Whereas I thought words bent emotions like sticks in water.” Set in an abandoned villa/hospital in Tuscany, The English Patient is a novel of four people maimed and broken by the war – A badly burnt
