Letters to my girl

Hello little girl.

You turn 10 months today. A milestone for you. A bigger one for me.

Just last week we visited Bangalore, the same place where I spent 5 years of my life doing my graduation. I never thought I would visit the place again when I left it in 2012 , that too with you and your dad. How fast life changes?!

You were a perfect sweetheart throughout the 3 days whirlwind journey. No tantrums. No crankiness.

I am blessed to have you my girl. Rather, it’s my honour to be your mother.

Everyone said me motherhood is tough and demanding. But then, you make it easy for me Alhamdulilah. Your calm nature and sweet smiles lightens my day. I love it how you sit in your play pen and play on your own with your favourite ‘Mutton’ aka LEKA Musical toy – Sheep from IKEA. They said me once baby starts feeding solid food, your easy days are over. Well, you proved them wrong. Alhamdulilah for being a fabulous eater and enjoying your meal times sitting in your
high chair.

Time is flying by so fast. I want to savour these moments before they get dusted in the sands of time. That tiny index finger with which you try to pick up a grain of rice or your tiny puffy feet, the soft breathing sound while you are just sleepy, the mmm sound while feeding, your tiny birthmark- I love it all – Most importantly, I am always awed by my biggest blessing from Allah. Alhamdulilah

Love you to the moon and back.

Ummi.

Slow down by Nicole Nordeman.
