Blogging goals

When I started blogging on WordPress at the beginning of this year, my goal was basically to delve into the realm of creative writing using prompts. In short, to write more ! My writing  mainly revolves over spirituality, books and personal reflections. Having gone through a severe quarter life crisis, my faith and the written word are what has helped me to keep going through the tough times.

As I interact more with different people around the globe and read countless blogs, I truly realize the effect a few positive words can have on an individual we haven’t met or will never meet in this lifetime ! My aim with this blog is just that – spread positivity through words, create awareness of issues we often overlook and most importantly, personally, to introspect spiritually through words.

…… and last of all, to gain readers. I had a personal blog on Blogger since 2008 and was quite shy in publicising my written work anywhere. Yet, I find, we need motivation from others to continue our work. Having learnt from my mistake, here I am, fighting my introversion and interacting with more bloggers !

Thus, three concrete goals would be,

● Write atleast 3 posts per week. Re-start my Beloved Monday series.
● Gain follower count to 130 atleast, by May 31 !
● Fight my online introversion and comment on blogs I have been reading for years (but never commented a word!)

  1. Found you from the Blogging 201 and you’re a fellow A to Zer. I, too, have to fight through the blogging introversion thing. Sometimes I wonder how that’s possible, since I not speaking to someone face to face. I looked around and I like your blog. I think what you’re doing with the challenge is awesome. Some of the words I never would have suspected as being rooted in Arabic. Interesting. Good Luck with you goals.

  2. Good luck with your goals! If I wasn’t already a follower, I’d hit the follow button right now! Remember that goals are not “have-to’s”, remember to have fun and enjoy yourself in the process.

  3. I have a habit of not following goals. If I set them, they are chided away just like that. Maybe because every day is new and full of possibilities. And maybe because my pleasure lies in doing things I haven’t set as goals and surprising myself. It often proves good and as a writer who takes it professionally serious but quite haphazardly, I rarely have time to meet goals, especially of blogging. I did make resolutions, but never kept them. 😀 Am an introvert generally. Not much as medical school and life away from home has taken the shells away. But online I am cool. If I read a post, I surely make a comment because I can’t stop myself from saying what I think or feel. But goals are a no-no to me because it can be a big-time disappointment to me. Lol… 😀
