Being a Dentist’s daughter through and through! 😀

The craftwork was done by Pipe Cleaners and the bottle was coloured with crayons by my five-year-old. Pipe cleaners are versatile and can be easily moulded to any shapes. Quite economical and easily available in all craft stores. There are tonnes of Pipe cleaner crafts on Youtube. Hours of fun for the kids.

It’s V day! We do not celebrate it as such…

I wanted to write this long paragraph about ‘love and relationships’ but then a written word online or on the blog might intrude into what we celebrate as our intensely private world. We are the kind who do not have any photos together online even after nearly 7 years together. I do not know if that no photo policy will change – maybe it might, maybe not – but whatever it is, I hope and pray our offline world and life is as colorful as ever and filled with Bharakah.

I had seen the ‘fake snow’ “recipe” on @thesmallprintofbeingamum page and wanted to try it out.

(We ran out of baking soda and did with what we had)

O my lord- the kids had so much fun. They played with it for nearly an hour and wanted to call their dad immediately to share the excitement! (Proper desert kids who have never experienced snow and hence excited about anything similar to snow 😃)

It is made of 1/4 cup conditioner +1cup baking soda.

They made a snowman + volcano + rocky road and so on…Simple but hours of unlimited fun!

We went to Al Khor Mall to pick up Pizzas from Papa Johns. While we were waiting, I caught these two happily dancing in the middle of the mall with no care in the world. 😀

In the Desi world, we are often told by our elders, ‘Don’t do this. Don’t do that. What will people think? Log Kya Kahenge?’ Filial or societal pleasing are big in the Desi world. I try not to utter those words to my kids. Let people think whatever they want. They do not live our lives. We do. So our decisions, actions and thoughts should be what we think is right and appropriate for us.

A little bit of BU-JO doodling!

If there is anything that Covid-19 has taught us, it is – Be Patient.

But underneath all this patience is also loss and grief, disease and disability, plans changed and dreams crashed, unemployment and financial challenges and so on. Every person has endured some sort of obstacle since the pandemic started.

I hope and pray that this gets over soon.

My current read! Trying to read about a part of India that I am quite unaware of – Sikkim. Have you heard about Sikkim?

This is one of our favourite spots ever since the pandemic started. It is never crowded and has such a beautiful view of the Corniche. Cloudy weather. Perfect for a cup of hot chai!

  1. What a pretty craft with the pipe cleaners. The fake snow looks like fun and it sounds like the kids had a great time.
What a beautiful view. I can see why that last photo is your favourite spot x

  2. Love the pipe cleaner flowers. So clever. There was a girl at my boarding school who’d never seen snow before. She was so excited when it snowed – she was 18, and we all took her out to play in it at night after prep itme.

  3. Love the pipecleaner flowers – they look very good. We had some magic snow kits over Christmas and my son loved them – I can imagine how excited your children must have been to play with snow rather than sand #365

  4. Those pipe-cleaner flowers are so pretty. What a lovely craft to do. How lovely that the children had fun playing with fake snow. I love the photo of your girls dancing in the middle of the mall. #project365

  5. I work in a supermarket and even we don’t stock that much toothpaste!! I cannot wait to be able to eat out again, or even get a proper takeaway. Papa John’s is fab
