Home, Kids & Around! – Week 2, 2021 – Project 365

We moved house in the middle of the pandemic in March 2020. Our house hasn’t really been furnished much or arranged well. Though I don’t like many small decor items (cos hello dust) I really love some minimalistic decor. I got this print from Saleha Art. I should have printed it to A3size which would have been better actually! ( and IKEA Qatar is having some pretty good sales until Feb 13, FYI)

How do you like decorating your house?

My daughters wanted me to stick the rest of these glow-in-the-dark stars. (Amazon Affiliate) My initial response was ‘NO, I am too tired now’.

Momma, please!

A shift of thoughts in me.

Why do I keep saying no for everything?

All they want is such a simple thing to be done. All it would take me is 5-10 minutes.

I said, ‘Ok we will do it now then.’

Their faces lighted up. Such simple pleasures. Alhamdulilah

Lost in their own world!

This happened a couple of days ago. Kid 2, who is 2 years old, spilt over something in the living room and she started crying seeing the mess she made. Kid 1, who is 5 years old, said, โ€˜ Baby, it’s alright. It was just an accident. Accidents happen.โ€™

Sometimes I feel my kids have more emotional maturity than me! (I am not sure if I would have reacted the same calm way as she did. Maybe my first question would have been – why did you spill? – which is actually quite an absurd question if I think of it cleary now )

I was feeling so lazy the whole day – Weekend + Cold winter ๐Ÿ˜The only photo I clicked was of the (Amazon Affiliate) Miss Fong bag for a blog post I am working on right now – Top 10 baby products ( I loved the second time around!)

Al Bayt Stadium – one of the semifinal venues for 2022 World Cup Match. It is surely becoming a weekend spot for families in Doha. We went for an evening stroll today!

Also, my little 5-year-old lost her first milk tooth. All milestones of my kids make me quite happy and a little sad too, I am not really sure why!

What is the first step in bringing about a change in one’s life? Where do we start from? How do we motivate our self? Pondering over some thoughts…

That’s all for this week from all of us ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Oh wow, losing a first tooth, a big milestone. Do you have the tooth fairy or not? Love those stars, so much prettier than the beighe glow in the dark ones my son had when he was younger #365

  2. Those magnetic tiles look fun and I love the glow in the dark stars. I love that your older daughter reassured the little one when she split something. My eldest used to say things like that to her little sister too. Losing the first tooth is a big milestone. I find milestones like that bittersweet too. #project365

  3. I was very sad when my daughter lost her first tooth. She has lost loads now, all very quickly, the tooth fairy can’t keep up! You have some lovely outdoor photos the sky is amazing colours. I love those stars, something so simple making them so happy #365

  4. Glad you found the energy to put the stars up, but never feel guilty, being a parent is exhausting. How lovely that your older child comforted your younger child after they spilt something.Great use of colours by your daughter!

  5. How very sweet that your older daughter has comforted her younger sister about the spill. Losing the first milk tooth is a big milestone. We are happy about the milestones, but also sad, because our babies are growing up.
The stars tiles look pretty, and I imagine they give a lovely glow in the night.
Our house is far from minimalist in decoration, probably cluttered, but that’s how I like it.Thousands of books and lots of artwork on the walls. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. That print is lovely! Will check out her prints. The glow in the dark stickers look cool!

Oh that is so sweet that the older daughter reassured the little one. Like you I am not sure I would have remained calm!
