Book Review: Alhamdulilah For Series

Book review : Alhamdulilah For Series

For a few days now, I have been living  with the guilt and sadness of having taken a break from my career, for which I have worked since 2006. There are so many factors that made me take this decision. Some days , I feel guilty that all I do from morning to night is change diapers, cook food and clean the house. In my head, I have called myself unproductive or wasting my youthful years inside the four walls of my home.

I realized I needed a battery recharge. Or this might end up taking me down like the severe quarter-life crisis I underwent. I need to protect myself even before it starts.

I remembered the Alhamdulilah For series book I was sent a couple of months earlier. Jotting down every aspect of motherhood I was grateful for might help me to look at my current situation through a brighter tinted glass. The book has beautiful illustration which goes with each of its sections. It is divided into 4 sections where we can jot down about what we are grateful for. Since there are many detailed reviews already, I shall write about how I used the gratitude journal for myself.

Alhamdulilah for the basics

Alhamdulilah for her who helps me relive a second childhood.
Alhamdulilah for her which taught me to use my time productively.
Alhamdulilah for her learning to eat adult sized food without gagging.
Alhamdulilah for her tiny curls which her great grandma used to call, a sign of blessing.

Sometimes we just say Alhamdulillah without realising the impact. Allah feels so happy when he sees His creation thanking Him for the provision and He wants to give more in abundance!
Have ordered the book! Cant wait for it to arrive! xx

  7. I can so relate to you! I am always going through conflicting emotions of “what am I doing with my life changing diapers all day” vs “I want to spend every moment watching my daughter grow up”. Reflecting on my true purpose here and taking time out to express my gratitude has really helped me refocus and re-center myself! <3
